What is confirmed about SIU dorms, what older housing information says about rooms and fees, and what to ask before reserving a place.
The university’s development plan confirms male and female dormitories on its Pathum Thani campus. A separate third-party guide summarizes an older SIU accommodation page archived on February 14, 2025, with room amenities and prices. We date those details throughout this guide because they may have changed.
Room information
SIU’s official plan confirms male and female dormitory buildings but does not publish room layouts, occupancy, a current facilities list or an application guide. The archived details below are secondary reporting based on the university’s older housing page, not a current guarantee.
VNIS describes the archived SIU page as listing separate five-storey buildings for male and female students. Ask the university about current allocation, room availability and any applicable residence rules.
The historical description lists furnished rooms, air conditioning, Wi-Fi and private bathrooms. Confirm the current room inventory, occupancy, included furniture and whether utilities or internet cost extra.
Older details mention washing machines, a self-service minimart, gym, kitchens and a barbecue garden. Ask which facilities remain open, their hours and whether students pay additional use fees.
The historical report describes 24-hour security and night infirmary support. Request current security contacts, building entry arrangements, emergency steps and any health-service hours.
SIU’s official plan lists a campus canteen but does not establish that meals are included in dorm fees. Ask about current canteen hours, meal costs and kitchen access.
An archived SIU description mentions a weekend shuttle to shopping malls. Confirm destinations, operating days, fees and current schedules directly with Student Affairs.
The university’s development plan is the source for dormitory existence and campus-level services; individual room details above are from VNIS’s summary of the archived SIU housing page.
Prices and comparison
A current SIU dormitory fee schedule could not be verified. The amounts below are historic reference figures reported by VNIS from SIU’s archived page, plus one independent rental advertisement. They differ in date, currency, inclusions and location.
| Accommodation | Price reference | Evidence and limits | Ask before committing |
|---|---|---|---|
| SIU on-campus dormitory | Historical reference: room about US$150/month; utilities about US$35/month; internet about US$12–14/month | Figures reproduced by VNIS from an SIU page archived Feb 14, 2025. Not a current quote or confirmed offer. | Current fee, room occupancy, bills, deposit, refund timeline, intake eligibility and room assignment. |
| Pakkadee Sena 2, Mueang Pathum Thani | Listing advertises THB 3,000/month for fan room and THB 3,500/month for AC room; six-month minimum | Third-party listing marked “awaiting confirmation.” This is a private rental example, not an SIU dormitory; campus commute is not established by the price listing. | Live availability, route to SIU, utilities, deposit, Wi-Fi, contract and payment receipt with provider. |
| Other Pathum Thani room listings | Directory asks vary by property and district | Search directories include Muang Pathum Thani, Lat Lum Kaeo, Thanyaburi and Khlong Luang; listings change. | Exact address, travel time at class hours and all move-in charges. |
The historical SIU information summarized by VNIS says the refundable dorm deposit was normally two or three months and paid at the dorm office on arrival. Confirm the current deposit and request official written payment instructions; never rely on a copied or forwarded account number.
Thammasat’s Rangsit-campus guide lists THB 3,500–5,000/month for dormitory or private-apartment housing including water and electricity, and THB 35–100 for street-stall meals. This is a different campus and local estimate, not SIU’s rate or an SIU student budget.
Location and travel
The campus plan identifies dormitories as campus facilities. Confirm the dorm building entrance and your program’s teaching location with SIU before booking transport or an off-campus room.
SIU official websiteMoovit currently lists bus routes 1111, 1138, 1147, 1-27 (90) and 6249 near the main campus, including stops identified as Visual Stop and Opposite St. Carlos Medical Centre. Route data is third-party and can change; check service times and a backup trip live.
The archived SIU arrival information also described airport transfer for some new students in university housing. Confirm current eligibility, airport, dates and advance notice directly with SIU before booking flights around it.

Frequently asked questions
Yes. SIU’s Educational Development Plan for 2024–2028 lists male and female dormitories among the services at the Pathum Thani campus. The plan confirms dormitory facilities exist, but it does not provide current vacancies, room rates or booking conditions.
We could not verify a current official dormitory rate. A third-party guide reproduces an older SIU accommodation quote of about US$150 per month for a furnished dormitory or apartment room, plus about US$35 for electricity and water and US$12–14 for internet. The archived university page is dated February 14, 2025; treat those as historical figures and request a current quote from SIU.
The public official plan does not specify room occupancy. Ask SIU Student Affairs whether current rooms are single or shared, how many students share a room, and whether applicants can request a room type or roommate.
A third-party guide summarizing SIU’s archived accommodation page reports furnished rooms, air conditioning, Wi-Fi, private bathrooms, 24-hour security, washing machines, a self-service minimart, gym, kitchens, barbecue garden, night infirmary support and a weekend mall shuttle. These are historical reported details; confirm what is currently available and included with SIU.
The existence of dormitories is confirmed, but current international-student eligibility, room allocation and availability by intake are not confirmed in accessible current official material. Contact SIU directly with your program and arrival date.
VNIS’s archived-source summary reports that the historical SIU dorm deposit was normally two or three months and refundable. Since this is not verified as a current policy, ask for the deposit amount, payment method, deductions and refund schedule in writing before paying.
The dormitories listed in the SIU development plan are services at its Pathum Thani campus, whose published address is 99 Moo 10, Bangtoey, Sam Khok, Pathum Thani 12160, Thailand. Confirm your program’s teaching location and the housing building’s exact entrance with the university.
A historical SIU arrival reference summarized by VNIS described airport transfers for new international students staying in university housing during the week before semester, if flight details were submitted in advance. Ask SIU whether the service is offered for your intake and confirm airport, time window, advance notice and booking method.
