Independent accommodation guide
Compare the official TSU student dormitory with nearby Songkhla apartments and short-stay hotels, then check the right option for your campus and length of stay.
VideshGuru is an independent education guidance platform. It is not affiliated with or authorized by Thaksin University. TSU and each accommodation provider control their own bookings, eligibility, terms and prices.
Hostel or dorm?
Students often use “hostel” to mean low-cost student housing or a place to stay for a few nights. Thaksin University’s official sources describe its campus housing as student dormitories. TSU International Services lists independent apartments for longer stays and hotels for short visits. We could not verify an accommodation property operated by TSU under the name “hostel.”
For a semester or academic year, start with the official dorm portal and ask about eligibility and current availability. For a few nights while you arrive or view rooms, compare the hotels listed by TSU. For a private monthly rental, contact the independent apartment owner directly.
| Option | Best for | What to verify |

| Hotel / short-stay | Arrival nights or temporary accommodation | Dates, full price, cancellation, location and check-in requirements |

TSU lists The Peak as a hotel at THB 300–500 per night. A travel booking directory also categorizes The Peak Songkhla as a hotel. Use current listings to check its location, room features and policies; the rate on TSU’s guide is not a guaranteed booking price.

TSU International Services lists independent student apartments roughly 0.5–1.8 km from campus. Its cost-of-living page gives THB 3,500–8,000 per month as a broad student-apartment planning range. This is not a quote for each property or a TSU dorm fee. Contact owners to check current rooms, terms and total monthly cost.
Planning beyond rent
Ask whether the advertised rent includes electricity, water, Wi-Fi, cleaning or building fees. Confirm deposit, advance payment, lease length and whether the room can be reserved before arrival.

Current room availability and rates are dynamic and should be checked in the portal or with Student Affairs.
The public sign-in instructions mention TSU i-Pass for enrolled students and an applicant-number plus national-ID route for new students without a student number. International applicants should ask which identity document and application route apply to them before depending on a dorm room.

Common questions
Thaksin University has an official student dormitory booking portal. Its public accommodation pages use the terms dormitory, student apartment and hotel; we could not verify a TSU-operated property specifically named a hostel. Students searching for a hostel should compare the TSU dormitory for semester stays with independent hotels for short stays.
TSU International Services lists The Peak Songkhla at THB 300–500 per night on its short-stay hotel page. This is a published guide rate, not a live quote or guarantee of availability. Check dates, taxes and current rates with the property. It is identified as a hotel by TSU, not a TSU hostel.
TSU's live dormitory portal is the source for current university room rates and availability, but a public fixed rate was not verifiable when this guide was prepared. TSU International Services gives a broad planning range of THB 3,500–8,000 per month for student apartments. Private room rates and university dorm fees are different and must be confirmed separately.
TSU publishes an international student service and a university dormitory portal, but the public booking instructions do not clearly confirm the identity verification route for every international applicant. Ask TSU Student Affairs or International Services whether you are eligible, when to apply and whether a passport can be used instead of a Thai national ID.
The TSU accommodation page lists private apartments around the Songkhla campus, generally within roughly 0.5–1.8 km. The official dormitory portal also has a Phatthalung campus filter. Accommodation and transport options differ by campus, so verify your teaching location before booking.
